Carbon‐Doped Porous Polymeric Carbon Nitride with Enhanced Visible Light Photocatalytic and Photoelectrochemical Performance

The photocatalytic activity of polymeric carbon nitride (CN) is strongly tied to its surface area, morphology, optical, and electronic properties. Herein, a straightforward approach adjusting the properties morphology CN materials by fine tuning their content while preserving high area proposed. To do so, supramolecular assemblies based on monomers together with an additional carbon-rich monomer that does not participate in preorganization are calcinated. use assembly as precursor endows material specific ordered whereas addition provides light doping. As result, new exhibits excellent photoanode photoelectrochemical cells photocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction. Detailed studies reveal modified samples show enhanced charge carrier transfer separation efficiency, improved absorption response, tunable energy band structure, higher electrochemical better conductivity compared reference CN.

Molecularly grafted carbon nitride (CN) nanosheets, matching well with the emission energy of upconversion phosphors (UCPs), were acquired for the first time.
